Late last night, what started as a petty robbery from a 7-Eleven convenience store ended in more carnage, explosions and a violent shootout that left two dead.

After confusing reports from the police scanners, false identifications of alleged suspects, and a lockdown of the city, the facts about the connection between the Boston Marathon bombers and the Watertown shootout are becoming clearer. 

Here is all we know about the shootout, the explosions, and the suspects.

The Robbery:

At about 10:20 PM EST, a suspect, who resembled the FBI's Suspect #2 (white cap), entered a 7-Eleven store near the campus of MIT in Cambridge. That suspect was armed and police were notified.

UPDATE: The Boston Police Department retracted the original report that the brothers were involved in an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven store.

Suspect In Custody After Battle With Police, The Father Says He's Confidence They're Innocence!!!-- The father of two men suspected of carrying out the Boston marathon bombings has spoken out in support of his sons, saying he had total confidence in their innocence.

There were multiple explosions Friday night near where authorities have engaged a possible suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, CNN crews reported from Watertown, Massachusetts. As many as a dozen people were being moved away from the scene of intense police activity in Watertown, Massachusetts, including a young girl being carried in a police officer's arms, CNN's David Fitzpatrick reported.

Authorities have engaged the possible remaining suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings in Watertown, Massachusetts, a senior federal law enforcement official said. The Boston Police Department tweeted that there are "police operations" on Franklin Street in Watertown, Massachusetts. CNN crew at the scene heard gunshots and saw several law enforcement vehicles race toward the scene.

Suspect one who died in the firefight is being identified as Tamerlan Tsarnaev, bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's older brother. Dzhokhar can be seen in the new FBI released photograph above.

A police scanner reported that Dzhokhar posted this message to the police online.

"I will kill all of you because you killed my brother."

Tsarnaev is a boxer, but not much else is known about him.

A younger mugshot of now 19-year-old suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

His uncle spoke to Fox News and urged his nephew to turn himself in.

After a very long night of a cop being killed, a 7-11 being robbed, a car being jacked and a major shoot-out in Watertown, MA, it seems that the identities of the alleged Boston Marathon bombers has been revealed.  NBC News is reporting that the two men are brothers from Russia, of Chechnyan decent and have been in the states for over a year. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19 years old is still on the run, while his older brother, who is 20 years old, was captured and killed earlier this morning.  NPR is reporting that there is a third arrest, an accomplace, but that has not been confirmed.  These pictures are from Dzhokhar's social media page.
