The Michael Baisden Show Cancelled And The Whole Staff Denied Access Back Into The Studios!!

The Michael Baisden Show Cancelled And The Whole Staff Denied Access Back Into The Studios!! -- Within the span of 48 hours, The Michael Baisden Show went from a thriving, daily afternoon radio show to a cancel of controversy. Fans and supporters of Michael Baisden, the popular, nationally syndicated radio show host, took to the internet with petitions and boycotts of Cumulus Media in efforts to reverse the decision but Mr. Baisden pleaded for his fans to accept the fate that has transpired.

We were unable to reach an agreement with our syndication partner Cumulus Media. This was not a hostile situation, sometimes parties have different ideas and visions about how to move forward. So, there is no need for petitions and boycotts”
This statement was made on the Baisden Live Facebook page early Thursday morning. Albeit the attempt to mitigate the contention between the two parties, the statement was immediately contradicted in its continuation:

My only issue was that after 10 years of discussing important issues like domestic violence, missing children, leading civil rights marches like The Jena 6, campaigning for mentoring programs on a 70 city bus tour and donating 350,000 of my own money, helping to re-elect our President, and standing up to lead the rally for justice for Trayvon Martin, that I would at least be allowed to finish the show through next Friday. Now that is some Fragernackle bull!"

Cumulus Media still has not returned calls for comment on the complete removal of the Michael Baisden Show. Speculation entails that the end has completely caught Mr. Baisden off guard and was the result of a possible firing given Michael was “excited about next week’s interviews”.

Without confirmation, the assumption that Michael Baisden was fired is still wayward. However, when a company is willing to give up advertisements and traffic to a number of certain media outlets, there is a hot issue that has not been broadcasted to the public.

On Thursday morning’s show, Steve Harvey expressed disbelief of the cancellation of Mr. Baisden’s show. He literally stepped of his morning show to confirm rumors, in which he hasn’t spoken about again. However, he expressed that “we cannot lose our voice. He [Michael Baisden] is a much needed voice in our community”. As the news spread and more and more fans of the Michael Baisden Show become aware that the show has been cancelled, Cumulus Media has not released an official statement.
According to their website, Cumulus Media is a major media conglomerate that is America’s second largest operator of radio stations. Radio personalities like Rush Limbaugh (Baisden has repeatedly berated Limbaugh) have contracts with Cumulus Media. Reports also state that Cumulus maybe in financial trouble.
There are unanswered questions as to the true motive behind Cumulus Media’s decision to end The Michael Baisden show; however the fact that the media company refused to allow Mr. Baisden to end the show next Friday indicates that there is some murky waters that has tainted the relationship.
